Train for Hyrox in
San Antonio & Helotes

The world's fastest growing fitness race is here, and Born Ready is where NW San Antonio gets ready for it. Coach-led Hyrox training with real sleds, real running, and real race simulations... whether it's your first race or you're chasing a PR.

What is Hyrox?

Hyrox is a fitness race with a simple, brutal format: you run 1 kilometer, then hit a workout station... eight times. The stations never change, which means you can train for exactly what's coming on race day:

  • 1,000m SkiErg

  • 50m sled push

  • 50m sled pull

  • 80m burpee broad jumps

  • 1,000m row

  • 200m farmers carry

  • 100m sandbag lunges

  • 100 wall balls

It's the same race in every city, for every level... thousands of everyday athletes race Hyrox every weekend around the world, and events in Texas fill up fast. The catch: running fitness alone won't get you through the sleds, and strength alone won't survive 8k of running. Hyrox rewards the athlete who trains both. That's exactly what we build here.

Why train for Hyrox at CrossFit Born Ready?

We already train this way.

Old school CrossFit is engine + strength + grit... the exact recipe Hyrox demands. This isn't a bolt-on trend for us.

The actual equipment

Sleds, SkiErg, rowers, wall balls, sandbags, and space to move... you train the real stations, not substitutes.

Coach-led, always

Station technique, pacing strategy, and programming that peaks you for race day instead of burning you out.

Race simulations.

Full and half simulations so the first time you feel the run-station-run grind is NOT on race day.

A team to suffer with.

Training partners, doubles partners, and a wall of people cheering when the wall balls get dark. That's the Born Ready difference.

What the program includes

  • Structured weekly Hyrox-specific programming: compromised running, station work, and strength that transfers

  • Technique coaching on all eight stations, from SkiErg efficiency to sled push body position

  • Pacing and race strategy: how to run your 1k splits so you finish strong instead of surviving

  • Scheduled race simulations as your event approaches

  • Scaling for every level: first-timer, doubles, relay, or open/pro

Who this is for

You do not need to be a CrossFitter, a runner, or an athlete. If you can move and you're willing to work, we can get you across a Hyrox finish line. First-timers welcome. Experienced racers chasing a time: the programming, equipment, and coaching here will move your splits.

Proudly training athletes across NW San Antonio

Born Ready athletes come from San Antonio, Alamo Ranch, Government Canyon, Leon Valley, Stone Oak, and Bandera Road... and our home gym is right here in Helotes at 13302 Western Oak, minutes off Loop 1604 and Bandera Rd.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need Hyrox race experience to join?

No. Most athletes in Hyrox training are preparing for their first race. Everything scales to your current fitness.

Do I need to be good at running?

No... that's exactly what we train. Hyrox running is done on tired legs ("compromised running"), and we build it progressively so race day feels familiar.

Is this only for Hyrox competitors?

Not at all. Hyrox-style training is one of the best all-around conditioning programs there is. Plenty of athletes join for the engine and never race... though most catch the bug.

Can I train for doubles or a relay?

Yes. We'll help you and your partner split the stations and train the handoffs.

This is the perfect place to start crossfit if you’ve never done it before and also great if you’ve been working out for years. The coaches have created a really open and supportive environment that allows for healthy competition but also personal development. There’s a bunch of WOD times as well as open gym hours. The new Barbell Club is perfect for learning and perfecting Olympic lifts. My kids really love going to Crossfit kids, too!

Came back after 3 years, work hours/stress took over. I'm so happy I went back. There's new faces but see many of same people & coaches. This attests to their long term goals & expertise of coaches. Been going for past year & still awesome.

We went to four boxes here in the far west side before we made our decision to go to CrossFit Born Ready- im pretty sure we knew right after the workout that this is where we wanted to come and workout. Staff is amazing- love the attention we get from the coaches with help on our form and motivation to keep pushing; and the people are great too. It's a very friendly atmosphere and we have felt welcomed since day 1!
